IBM® Cloudant® Data Layer Local Edition V1.1 delivers the availability, elasticity, and reach required by web and mobile applications. Cloudant Data Layer Local Edition offers:

  • Data flexibility through a JavaScript™ Object Notation (JSON) document store that enables users to change schemas on an ad hoc basis and ingest data from many sources and in many forms

  • Powerful indexing and search to increase application flexibility

  • Read and write scalability to support large numbers of concurrent users and locations

  • Multi-data center replication to help reduce latency and deliver business continuity

  • Enhanced support to specifically address geospatial data requirements

  • Integration with the open source Cloudant Sync package to support synchronization of mobile and remote devices for "always on" access

  • Utilities and dashboard to simplify management tasks

  • Similar to SQL, declarative JSON querying syntax (Cloudant Query) support

  • Integration with LDAP to make it easier for enterprise clients to continue to use their existing authentication and authorization mechanism

  • Expanded OS platform support
