Last chance to fill the few remaining slots available at the West Coast's premier education conference and expo.

The emphasis will be on new technologies and modernization when the OCEAN User Group kicks off its 17th Annual Catch the Wave Technical Conference Friday, July 16, at National University in Costa Mesa, Calif.

Attendees this year not only will have access to dozens of the latest technical books from the MC Press Book Store, but noted consultant and author Bob Tipton will be on hand to autograph copies of his new book, "JUMP!--Get Unstuck, Extraordinary Life Breathroughs Through Innovative Change" published by Alden-Swain Press. Bob also will give a presentation titled, "Managing Our Energy" based on his new book, and copies of his book will be available at the discounted price of only $20 (normally $24.95 for the hard cover).

The always popular Jon Paris and Susan Gantner will be on hand to offer the latest tips on modernization techniques. Susan will host several sessions including, "Top 10 Things RPGers Must Know," "Open Up with Special Files," and "MySQL-DB2 Connections," while Jon will conduct sessions on "Application Modernization," "PHP Intro for RPGers," and Re-thinking Your Documentation." Other speakres include: Craig Pelkie, Dave Brown, Jeff Olen, and Mike Pavlak. There will be five educational tracks and more than 30 sessions as well as a table-top vendor expo.
