Usual attendees include: Operations Managers, Business Analysts, Master Schedulers, Production Personnel, Accountants, IT Personnel, Planners, and Procurement Specialists. Prerequisites Intermediate knowledge of other JD Edwards applications is helpful, but not necessary. Level Intermediate Advanced Preparation None Objectives The course begins with a discussion of the business and organizational environments in which the Manufacturing functions will operate, then gets into the manufacturing system functions, which attendees will learn through many hands-on exercises. Attendees will define items, associate them into product structures, and define the value adding processes that convert raw materials into parts and that combine parts into products. Attendees will create their own menu, populate it with their own program versions, set up the requirements planning system, and run the end-to-end process from demand recognition through planning to product completed. Along the way, they will perform various materials management inquiries, and process reports. APICS / CMA / CPE / CEU Credits 40 CPP Credits 5.

New this spring: a four-day class on manufacturing planning. This four-day workshop, scheduled for April 8–11, will present an overview of the manufacturing planning functionality within the JD Edwards suite. It is specifically geared toward planners and IT staff wishing to learn more about MRP, DRP, MPS, and CRP.

Says Andy Klee, president of Klee Associates, “Our goal is always to help our clients achieve greater business results with the software they already own. Our experienced consultants share the full scope of their knowledge, including basics, advanced techniques, and ‘gotchas’ to avoid. Attendee feedback has been excellent, and we have many JDE clients who send employees to multiple classes.”

JDEtips Mastery Level workshops are taught in an instructor-led environment and qualify for continuing education credits, including CPE, APICS, CMA, and CPP.
