The Hardware Management Console, or HMC for short, made its debut with the introduction of POWER5 processors in the System i family. Early versions of the HMC had some loudly publicized issues; but those are long gone and earlier this year a completely refreshed version of the HMC code was released. We'll touch on what the HMC is, how you manage it, and how you connect it to your System i, We'll explore the new browser-based interface and many of the features it now brings to the HMC. We'll discuss remote access to the HMC, the ASMI, and to i5/OS console sessions hosted by the HMC. Join us as we explore the most powerful console ever attached to a System i! |
