Replying to messages in CL program

There is sample code here (http://www.mcpressonline.com/mc?13@175.koVMfHb6dae.1@.1efc4087/7). It uses API QMHRCVM, maybe there is also a way to use RCVMSG, but I prefer to use API's. To use the API, you will need the message key of the inquiry message. There are also several good vendor products which will monitor any queue and page/email you for unanswered messages. These products will also escalate to another person if the message is not answered after a certain period of time. Thanks

Does anyone know of a way to check if a message has been replied to? In a CL program I am monitoring QSYSOPR for certain *INQ messages, and need to send out an e-mail if the message has not been replied to. How can I determine if the message has already been replied to? The RCVMSG does not seem to provide this information?
