Hi! I get the following errormessage when trying to establish a connection between the AS400 (V4R4) and CODE400 (V3R2M1) on a W2K PC. "Connection request from <IP-number> has been ended by the daemon. The request does not contain a valid CODE signature" I've been trying o find something in the help but not a singel line seams to have been written about it. I'd be very greatful if somone could point me in the right direction. TIA Bertil Lilja IBS Konsult AB, Sweden bertil.lilja@ibs.se

Hi, The reason you are getting this message is because the version of CODE/400 is very old, and does not support the V4R4M0 AS/400. I recommend that you upgrade to the newest release of CODE/400 - V4R5M1 WDT/400 (a no cost upgrade). I'd also like to point out that the V3R2M1 release is at least 4 years old and is no longer supported. Violaine Batthish CODE/400 Project Lead

Did IBM start giving away Version 4 of OS/400? If so, when? The cost to upgrade from Version 3.0 to Version 4.x is at least $8000 and that's only if you're on a P05 level box. If you want, you can purchase the OS/400 software subscription, but in order to do that, you first have to "buy" the current release, again a minimum $8000 upgrade cost, and then buy the subscription service.

So, it ain't free.

<batthish@ca.ibm.com> wrote in message news:9805vo$kg0$1@news.software.ibm.com...
Hi, The reason you are getting this message is because the version of CODE/400 is very old, and does not support the V4R4M0 AS/400. I recommend that you upgrade to the newest release of CODE/400 - V4R5M1 WDT/400 (a no cost upgrade). Hi Bob, I was not talking about updating OS/400, just CODE/400. The previous post mentioned using a V4R4M0 AS/400 with a V3R2M1 version of CODE/400 (which are incompatible together). Actually, the version of CODE which was shipped with OS/400 V4R4M0 was V3R2M2. Also, to my knowledge, CODE/400, has to this date, always been a no cost upgrade. Thanks, Violaine Batthish CODE Project Lead
