Hi All, I have heard that it is possible to install CODE/400 on windows XP but when I try, it says that I have to be signed on as Administrator. Well, I am. I have tried everything from adjusting system security policies but nothing works. Has anyone been able to install Code/400 5.1 on an Windows XP machine. James Girtman

I will post here again what I have got: The following is a set of instructions to guide you thru' installing WDT 5.1 onto XP, but please note that some functions of the product may not work with XP. Here are the instructions to install V5R1M0 on WinXP. 1. Set/create the registry key. [HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareIBMWDT400Transient] "InstallSrcpath"="G:" Replace "G:" with where the source you install from(your CD drive letter). 2. Run installmsisetup.exe (in CD1) 3. Run installinv51setup.exe (in CD1) "James Girtman" <j_girtman@namtrig.com> wrote in message news:amdn52$3mn8$1@news.boulder.ibm.com... > Hi All, > > I have heard that it is possible to install CODE/400 on windows XP but when > I try, it says that I have to be signed on as Administrator. I installed CODE/400 5.1 on XP Proffesional with no problems and did not have to do anything special. I still haven't decide whether I like it, but had no XP-related problems. So it IS possible. I did install the service packs before using it, but if you're having trouble with the initial install, that isn't why. > Hi All, > > I have heard that it is possible to install CODE/400 on windows XP but > when I try, it says that I have to be signed on as Administrator. > Well, I am. Hak, It says on the <a href="http://www-3.ibm.com/software/ad/wdt400/about/sysreq.html"> web site</a> that XP is supported. Is that true? WDSC 4.0 is supported on XP but WDT400 v5.1 came out before XP and does not support XP (though it may work for some).
