Stanley, I just tried this on my PC, and I have no problem toggling between inert and replace modes with NUMLOCK on or off. I am running WDT/400 V5R1M0 SP5 on Windows 2000 Pro. John. <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Stanley, I have no problems using the INSERT key on the small keypad combination set (ie, page up,page down , home, end, del). The insert key on the numeric key pad operates in the manner you described. Maybe the insert key has been remapped to function like the numeric key pad key (0/insert).</FONT></DIV> <BLOCKQUOTE dir=ltr style="PADDING-RIGHT: 0px; PADDING-LEFT: 5px; MARGIN-LEFT: 5px; BORDER-LEFT: #000000 2px solid; MARGIN-RIGHT: 0px"> <DIV>"Stanley" <stanleymckenzie@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:ad5lil$2cha$1@news.boulder.ibm.com...</DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Are we the only ones having this problem. Hi Stanley, I have a 101 keyboard, which means I have 2 insert keys. One of them(Insert) is between the regular keys and the number keypad the other is on the number pad(Ins) and "shares" the key with 0 (zero). When I use the Num Lock, the Ins key doesn't toggle insert/replace, but instead gives me a zero. This is pretty much expected and all the other applications where I tried it out (NOTEPAD, LOTUS Notes, Netscape) behaved the same way. I'm not sure which type of keyboard you are using, but perhaps there is a second insert key (on my Thinkpad, I only have the Insert key, not the Ins - but it isn't mapped to the zero so there was no problem there) you could use instead. I would also like to note that you mention SP2. The latest service pack for CODE is SP5, and I highly recommend that you move to the latest service pack.
