Copy tape to tape - how ?

We just internally installed two new IBM/MLR tapes units. We did a system backup that spanned two 50 gig tapes with no problem. Now we want to make a duplicate of these tapes by copying from one tape to another. Our old 8mm unit did this with a hardware switch in the device. Question: Is there a software command that will let us do this now ? I can't seem to find any on the system. Our new units do not have a hardware switch. Thanks for your help !
