Try restoring with the RST command

Hi Chris, I was able to restore it with the RST command. I know this is part of the restore option 21 - (RST OBJ(('/*') ('/QSYS.LIB' *OMIT) ('/QDLS' *OMIT)) - I didn't receive any errors during the restore, so I am just curious why on V5R1 it didn't restore - it has happened to another one of our customers also on V5R1. I am just curious if anyone else has encountered this problem. Thanks,

This is only a guess but the SAV and RST seem to be step children of the SAVE/RESTORE process. By that I mean that when you do a SAVSYS and think you are getting "everything" you still have to do the SAV to get the IFS. Maybe the same is true for the restore, even using option 21. It's only a guess.

I recently did a scratch install on a 170 running V5R1M0. The data was saved using option 21 and restored using option 21. All information except for the IFS was restored. Has anyone seen any problems with the restore option on this release? Thanks,

The RST command should be used to restore the IFS if your using a option 21 save system.
