Does anything need to be started or configured in order for your power down schedule to work? I went to the power menu using a GO POWER and set up an IPL for every night, and the machine is not IPLing.

I don't think that there is anything special to have started/running. Did you set up individual dates or did you set the defaults? Either way please provide details of what you entered and where and are those values still there today.

Chad, What are your defaults and dates set to. If you set it for a specific date, then the system may wait for that date to come around again. Later, Bret Myrick

The defaults is what I set, and I set it for Mon. - Sun. and to power down at 1:00 and to power on at 5:00!

Check the following: 1. Your AS/400's keylock switch should be in the "Normal" position. 2. "Automatic Cleanup" must be activated. Notes: 1. Scheduled power-on often will not work if the AS/400 was not previously shut down through a scheduled power-off. 2. To activate "Automatic Cleanup", enter "GO CLEANUP", select option # 1 (Change Cleanup Options), and set "Allow Automatic Cleanup" to "Y". If you do not really want to run any cleanup, just set "Time Cleanup Starts Everyday" to "*NONE". Lastly, make sure the automatic-cleanup program QSYSCD running under subsystem QCTL is never cancelled or held. 3. The schedules are in 24-hour military time format. 4. Don't forget to synchronize your watches/clocks (via WRKSYSVAL QTIME). Also, the program QSYSCD (memory resident program in QCTL subsystem should not be held.
