We have a new 270 @ V4R5, using OPs Console for control. We are trying to setup PPP dial in for external access and we would like to use the internal modem on our #2771/#9771 card. However, on trying to configure PPP via Ops Navigator (the only way to do it completely), the resource for the modem is not listed - it just lists the #2745 WAN card. As this has the Ops Console and ECS on it, that is no good. And I would like to use the internal modem as it is there !!! Has anyone else had similar problems or am I missing something obvious here. PS IBM System Builder says you cannot use the #2771/#9771 card for Ops Console - but you can. Our two comms cards came transposed in the system and we managed to get the system running with Ops Console via the wrong card i.e. the #2771/#9771.

FYI, it is apparently a known problem and there are PTFs for it. I've been told by IBM in the USA to install the latest Cum PTF package/CA Service pack plus to review APAR II12480. I've a feeling the UK is behind on these so the package I've ordered may not be the one but I'll update this at the time.
