How do I know if a job is already running?????

Is there a way on the AS400 to find out if a job is already running. I know on the S36, we had the 'if active' command. Is there a similiar command on the 400, please let me know. I've been looking for a while on this. If anyone has a solution, please email me at dogbase@dogbase.com. I have a job that need to run in only one occurance on the system.
