3590 Performance issues

We have recently installed an additional 3590 tape device model e11. We were led to believe a performance increase of 14% would be expected. An additional 6534 Multifunction IOA was also installed on a separate BUS from our current 3590 E11. However, we have not realised any performance increase. Can anyone tell me why this might be ?

You might want to call IBM for PTFs on the drive. I think there were a couple issued in the past month or so to correct it. HTH, Cheryl
