I have a CL program that submits a RPG program to batch. In the batch RPG program, it calls another CL program that is suposed to send a break message to a user, bit it doesn't. What happens is it send a message to the users message queue and asks for a reply. If I call the CL program that sends the message interactivally, then the break message works. Can what I am trying to do be done and how? Thanks,Jason

Have you tried the SNDUSRMSG command? The help for this command says:
The Send User Message (SNDUSRMSG) command is used by a program tosend a message to a message queue and optionally receive a reply tothat message. The message sent using this command can be either animpromptu or a predefined message and can be sent to a displaystation user in an interactive job or a specific message queue. Forinquiry messages, a CL variable can be specified to receive thereply value.
This sounds like just what you need.
