Welcome! The default location where CA looks for keyboard macros (*.mac files) is C:Program FilesIbmClient AccessEmulatorPrivate. Is there a way to change this location? I'm especially interested in making it pointing to some folder on network drive. I'm interested in answer for both CA V3R1M3 & CAE (Don't know the version I'll be working with). Thanks, Hubert

This is for V4.5 of Client Access Express and I expect it to be the same for earlier and later versions of CAE and Client Access. My PC is running Windows 2000. In the registry there is a key value of the following. HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareIBMPersonal CommunicationsCurrentVersionPreferencesProfile Directory Also at HKEY_USERSxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxSoftwareIBMPersonal CommunicationsCurrentVersionPreferencesProfile Directory (Where xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx is an encoded user on Windows 2000). This key hold the value C:Program FilesIBMClient AccessEmulatorPrivate. I think if you change this it will then point to the new location. But it will also change the location for all other things that get saved and do not allow you to specify a location. I suppose the easiest way would be to export the Key from the registry, save it with a name of oriloc.reg then change the value in the key and export the Key with a name of newloc.reg. Then you could double click the *.reg files and see what the results are. I hope this helps, André
