I have a client that has some inexpensive laser printers. They will not print on both sides. They have an application that list all their customers and they want this to print on both sides of the page. What they want me to do is print all the odd pages first and then let the user turn them over and then print out the even pages. I have some ideas on this, but would like to get some of yours. Thanks in advance for your help.... Eric Hill Muscle Shoals, AL hille@wlv.com

Seems to me, easiest way is use 2 printer files. Send the odds to one and the evens to the other. Pay attention to the paper-handling characteristics of the printer so that you don't end up with page 2 printing on the back of the last odd page.

Eric, I had to do this with one of my contracts. They too, had cheap laser printers and would not pay for one that did both sides. Solution: Two print files. prtodd, and prteven. If the value of RPPAGE was odd, write prtodd if the value of RPPAGE was even....well you get the picture. Hope this helps, Bret Myrick P.S. They have to restack the bundle of odd before releasing the even number pages, of course....

That's what I was going to do. I was just fishing a little. Thanks for the prompt reply. Eric Hill Muscle Shoals, AL hille@wlv.com
