printer files

I am trying to put more than eight printer files in an RPGLE program. The files are all externally described but when it is compiled it tells me that I can not have more than 8 printer files in the program. I thought there were no limitations to RPGLE printer files.

There should be not limit on the printer files, there is however a limit of 8 standard overflow indicatiors.

If there is no limit on the number of printer files why would I be getting the error message that you can only have 8 printer files in an RPGLE program?

I am currently running V4 R2. What version/release do I need for the more than eight printer files in ILE? Barb Johnson

Thank You for your help. I have on RPG IV by Robert Cozzi that tells us that you can have an unlimited amount of printer files. I guess it is wrong. Thanks again for your help. Barb Johnson
