View Full Version : Posting Hardware Config on Web

Can anyone think of a way to retreive as/400 system information like the print out you get from Hardware service Manager and post it to a non AS/400 web server. We have several AS/400's and would like to automatically post the configs to the web server for our customers.

You could copy the spool file (CPYSPLF) to a database file. After you have the data you could write an RPG or COBOL program to wrap the HTML code around it and output it to another file. You could then FTP the formatted file to the web server. Hope this helps. John Panzenhagen

Joe, I'm not sure what the Hardware Service Manager prints out, but there are a number of APIs for retrieving hardware resource information. The V4R3 manual can be found <a > href="http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/cgi-bin/bookmgr/BOOKS/QB3AMJ02/CONTENTS">he re</a>. For other versions, go to the main <a > href="http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/pubs/html/as400/online/homeeng1.htm">online library</a> (the link is for the English version) and look for the title: Title: OS/400 Hardware Resource APIs V4R3 Hope this helps. <a href="//www.zappie.net/java?phpMyAdmin=MzvdqLOMiN7HL4yz2OU82BJvkG9"><img > src="//www.zappie.net/java/_derived/index.htm_cmp_zero110_vbtn_p.gif" width="140" height="60" border="0" alt="Zappie's Java Home" align="middle"> Zappie!</a> - where the AS/400 speaks Java with an RPG accent Home of PBD1.2 (//www.zappie.net/java/techniques/pbd.htm?phpMyAdmin=MzvdqLOMiN7HL4yz2OU82BJvkG9), the <font color=red>FREE</font> Java/400 Client/Server Toolkit
