We have recently setup our AS400 to try to handle our in-house email. We have everything working with the exception of the address book. All of the clients are using Outlook to access the server. According to the manual, an address book should be created from the directory entries and sent to the cache for the POP server to use. We cannot seem to get Outlook to access the address book if in fact it is being created. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

We are using the as400 address book and my clients are using netscape messenger for there email. It depends on the version of OS but V4R3M0 does not automatically update the ldap directory. With V4R4M0 the ldap directory is maintained automatically and to access the server you give it the name of the server and the directory to look in i.e. ou=location,o=organization,c=country. In order to use ldap You must have option 30 & 32 of OS400 and configure the directory services in opsnav. hope this helps kenneth.

In order to see the AS/400 Address Book in Outlook 97/98/2000(not Express), you have to have the Corporate or Workgroup Service installed not the Internet Only Service. You can then add the AS/400 Service to your Outlook profile if you have Client Access Installed.
