Just thought I would help spread the word that JTOpen 2.0 (the open source version of the Java Toolbox) has been released. You can get it at http://www.as400.ibm.com/toolbox/ and follow the download links. JTOpen 2.0 has lots of new stuff like proxies for you applet folks, jdbc connection pooling, and lots of enhancements to existing classes. The readme doc says IBM will fold this into the lpp as Toolbox mod4 when v5r1 is released. I have just started playing with it myself and it feels like an early Christmas. The best part is that it is open source and free to download and use. Oh yeah, anyone who submits code to the JTOpen project gets a free JTOpen t-shirt. Alex Garrison

Alex, Is the source available yet? I sure can't find anything but the older source. David Morris

David, I dont know. Chris Smith handles the builds to cvs. I would assume 'any day now', but I'll find out and post the answer here. Alex Garrison

David, Chris tells me that they are shooting for next week to post the source to cvs. I know that it will take me that long just to get through the 2.0 javadoc I downloaded this week. Someone on the core team will post a message here as soon as the source is available. Alex

The Toolbox help says to check that the QUSER user profile on the as/400 has not expired. Outside chance, but worth a check. Alex Garrison
