Any help would be appreciated. JoelWe have 17 remote sites connected to our AS/400 via frame relay and routers. It works very well and we are pleased with it. As to what routers and controllers you need, it is determined by the equipment at the remote sites. I assume the remote sites have terminals and printers with twinax cable. If you want to use this equipment, you will need a controller for the twinax. The controller will then connect to a router that supports SNA. Routers that support SNA cost more than routers that support just TCP/IP. Compare the cost of that with the cost of replacing the terminals and printers with devices that can connect to Ethernet. Ethernet connects directly to the router. You can replace the twinax terminals with NCs or PCs with Client Access. These attach to the Ethernet. Twinax printers can be connected to Ethernet cable with a converter box. I consider SNA and twinax to be outdated and spending money for controllers that support them is not a good investment. We made the conversion to all Ethernet and all TCP/IP in 1996 and are happy we did. JHicks@SUZ.com
