We recently upgraded to a new AS400e type 9406 model 170 running OS V4R3. We were running a 9404 mod 400. We soon found that the new machine was causing high CPU utilization at our gateway server. We're running Netware V4.11 with NWSAA V2.1.3 and 17 PC clients using Client Access and the Netsoft Router. After 15 minutes the CPU utilization would go to near 100% and the server would hang. This was consistant causing our Client Access clients to be dead in the water. IBM Level 2 support had us back rev our CLIB on the gateway to Vi dated 6/10/97 and this fixed the immediate problem until a permanent fix can be found. But now, after approx. 3 days, the AS400 to gateway connection drops. All PC users are disconnected without warning. The gateway continues to function normaly except for NWSAA and the RCONSOLE function. The only way to reestablish the link to the gateway is to down the GW server and to then delete the device descriptions and the controller descriptions for the Client Access users. We brin g the GW back up and everytjhing is fine for 3 more days when it drops connection again. Has anybody experienced these kind of problems?
