I have a card embosser connected to the AS/400 through a DOS Client Access PC. The printer type in the C/A setup is an IBM 5216 Wheelwriter. I am trying to convert the embosser to an Axis print server. It does print through the new print server; however, not in the correct format (it's all over the place). Has anyone successfully converted an embossing maching from DOS Client Access to a print server. I am running over CAT5 TCP/IP. I am using the remote outq approach. Thanks Scott

Are You using a printserver for the IBM environment?

The Axis print server is basically sitting on our TCP/IP network. So it really wouldn't be only serving the IBM environment.

My question is if the printserver is one for IBM environment (AXIS 5470e, 670e,..)

It is not specifically for the IBM environment. It is a LAN tcp/ip network print server. We have tried e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g and simply cannot get this thing to work in any situation except DOS. The card maching tech support advises that they have only been able to make this work through twinax to a Black Box converter. Guess we are one up on them by making DOS work.

What I can see this printer can use a IBM Proprinterdriver and if You change out the AXIS LAN printserver to a AXIS Host2Lan printserver it will work.
