It sounds like the "audit" profile has some link to QSECOFR, either with special authority or a group profile, and the system value QLMTSECOFR is set to 1 (Explicit device access needed) You could change the object authority on the device to allow that user profile access, or change the system value, or change the "audit" profile to not have QSECOFR type authority.
