If you're looking to waste a few minutes, we just posted a new Krackenberg song on ANE Web called "Microsoftian Rhapsody." If you don't know what a Krackenberg song is, come check it out.
Joe -
>What?!?! No .mp3 version? ;-) >Steve I checked with the Krackenberg's label, Goofball Planet, and they are adamant about not releasing an MP3 version at this time (man, that's a company that's not gonna last long). However, if anyone has any bootlegs, I'd be interested in hearing them;-) Joe Hertvik Editor-AS/400 Network Expert http://www.midrangecomputing.com/ane mailto:jhertvik@midrangecomputing.com

For those of you who enjoy the clear smooth sound of Ken and Karl (and for those of you who didn't, never mind), there's another set of songs that we posted last year. The URL for this one is: http://www.midrangecomputing.com/ane/article.cfm?id=48&md=19991 This was released in January 1999 so the references might be a little dated but this batch includes: The Bill Gates Bash Stairway to Redmond and a few more. So you don't know where to find even more lyrics then...? I sent the Microsoftian Rhapsody-link to my friend at my internetprovider yesterday and he replied that he had just finished singing it with the assembled gang...that's 80 people ! Of course it was all done with credits and so on, credit where credit's due. I used to write lyrics(for popular artists here in Holland) too. I understand that these guys recorded their work ? If so, where can one find it ? Rob.

>So you don't know where to find even more lyrics then...?
As I get more Krackenberg lyrics, I'll be glad to post them on ANE Web. I'm also doing a profile of their new album in the OTOH;-) column of the March-April AS/400 Network Expert (Extra copies of ANE will be available at the Spring COMMON. If you're there, stop by the Midrange Computing booth). >>I sent the Microsoftian Rhapsody-link to my friend at my internetprovider yesterday and he replied that he had just finished singing it with the assembled gang...that's 80 people ! Boy, I would have liked to have seen that. You don't have a .WAV file of that, do you? >>I understand that these guys recorded their work ? If so, where can one find it ? Unfortunately, all the Krackenberg CDs were rounded up and burned in a slight misunderstanding over exactly what Karl was singing in their version of this Pink Floyd classic: "We don't need cert 'fication We don't need soft-ware control No dark sarcasm in computer rooms Consultant, leave the code alone Hey!, Consultant, leave the code alone All in all it's just another trick in the call All in all you're just another trick in the call" As a result, there aren't any more copies;-).I'm also lucky to receive a call from Ken sometimes with a new song which he graciously lets me post. However, as I said in a previous post, if anyone has a bootleg copy or a home version (the Krackenbergs originally performed in people's homes, asking only for a bit of coleslaw in return. I understand some recording still exist from that era), I would love to hear them. Take care... Hi Joe, Thankx for the response. Going to Common in the Spring, sounds good but as I live in the Netherlands it might prove to be a bit inconvenient....;-) BTW about that last quote, I heard the Barron Knights in England years ago and they had put that tune in a christmas-song : We don't need no christmas-presents We don't need no thought-control Who's this geezer Father Christmas ? He got stoned and lost control Hey Santa !(Wot?) Leave the booze alone ! He got drunk and drove his sleigh through the wall... I look forward to more of the Brother's work.. Kind regards, Rob. PS. You might want to take a look at http://www.bahnhof.se/~sk It's not just lyrics, it's a whole lot of(categorized) fun ! __________________ Things you do NOT want your System Administrator to Say 1.You did WHAT to the floppy??? 2.Sorry, we deleted that package last week. 3.NO!!!
