I know that the signon screen display file can be changed. Is there a way to selectively change *which* signon display is shown? We're trying to setup some wireless RF handheld devices that do 5250 emulation, albeit a very small display (16 lines x 20 char wide). The standard default signon display USERID and PASSWORD fields are *off the screen* (user can "scroll" to them with the arrow key, but not desireable). So I need a special display file where the fields are within 16 x 20 grid. But only for these RF devices. So is there a way to show one display file for regular sessions signon, and a different one for the RF devices? (ie selective based upon device type). Phil

The only way I know of (which CERTAINLY doesn't mean that it's the only way) to change which sign on screen is used is by associating it with a subsystem (using the CHGSBSD command). In order to make htis method work for your RF devices, I would have them come up in their own subsystem, defined to have the smaller signon screen. Michael

Have you checked with the folks that make the device; Telzon had a booklet with directions to do this for several processors. bobh

Thanks for the replies... Michael has an excellent idea... we have decided the handhelds should be in their own subsystem. I had forgotten that the signon display can be specified. Thanks. Bob.... I haven't seen any AS/400 expertise from TEKLOGIX (so far). But I am curious how other vendors have directed AS400 systems for this situation. Do you have the specifics? Phil
