I am trying to test my AS/400, (as the client). to FTP sending and receiving data via the internet. I thought in order to test, I could just have a PC also connected to the internet acting as a server. My AS/400 connects to the internet and is able to execute the FTP command to the dynamically assigned IP address of the PC. I am able to sign on as 'ANONYMOUS'. My problem is for some reason I can not access the C drive on my PC. When I do a DIR it only shows one file (~FTPSVC~.CKM). I also get an 'Access Denied' message when doing a PUT command. It seems I am missing some FTP set up on my PC. I looked at web settings, but only saw option for allow anonymous (windows 95). Do I need to set up the PC to have remote sign in other than anonymous? If so how? What needs to be done so I can send & receive files? I realize this is really a PC question and not a 400 question, but thought some of you may have some insight. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance. Ron

I never had much luck getting M$ Personal web server to work as advertised. I used to use WS-FTP's anonymous ftp server and it was cool as long as it wasn't used for a 24-7 site (it used to be a little unsecure but they might have fixed that). Anyway, if you can't get M$ working, try one of these free ftp servers. http://www.kensoft.co.uk/ http://www.fictional.net/ http://download.cnet.com/downloads/1,10150,0-10001-103-0-1-7,00.html?tag=st%2Edl %2E10001%2Esbsr&qt=ftp+server&cn=&ca=10001
