Set system value QACGLVL to *PRINT then do the necessary journal and journal receiver stuff to be able to start capturing the info. The journal entry will show information about pages actually printed. Here is a short CL I run monthly for my reporting and to attach a fresh receiver each month. The DSPUSRPRF allows me to query usage by user.

Kim, thanks so much for your input. We set the system value from *NONE to *PRINT and started journaling. Then DSPJRN to an outfile. We don't see the number of pages printed, however. It has the job name that printed, and the user, but not the pages. We are at op system 5.1. What are we missing? Thanks, again

We are trying to determine usage of printers going off lease to see if they even need to be replaced. We have several 6400 and 4247 IBM printers. (non laser)

THE DSPJRN Command only writes all the correct print detail if you first CRTDUPOBJ of QAPTACG from QSYS to a temporary or user library for the *OUTFILE
