Chris, Is it surprising that noone has left a comment on this article? Not really. You have said the unspoken opinion/truth that many pro-system-i writers would sweep under the carpet. No readers have come forward to dispute your view, which is shared by so many of us. Is there really a nice payoff here for RPG-OA, and is it a step forward, or just a stopgap temporary solution? Those of us in business sitting on the sideline for so long waiting for a good argument from IBM on which path to travel also feel this way, and we are asking "what is the long range payoff here?" Is PHP going to be a clean and efficient path? Should I bite the Java bullet? Hmmmm, Microsoft technologies are current and easy to master and well supported by development communities. And besides the proprietary nature of the MS products, there is still an open-source market in the Alt.Net community. IBM is not really making their foray into a modern UI with RPG-OA a no-brainer for adopters. -John
