  • QDLS Authority

Doug, QDLS works a little different from the other IFS stuff. It has its own authority commands. I don't think the IFS authority stuff works for QDLS. In order to use QDLS a USRPRF must still be in the System Directoty ...WRKDIRE. To give authority to an object in QDLS use either WRKFLR then Option 14 or CHGDLOAUT. I don't remember anything new in V5R2 that would have changed with this.

    QDLS Authority

I have a stream file in the QDLS file system. A user is trying to write a PDF to this file with CVTSPLSTMF *REPLACE. She is unable to - she is getting a "Not authorized to object" (CPFA09C) error from a CPYTOSTMF command. She gets a similar "no authority" error on a subsequent CHGDOCD as well. The authority for *PUBLIC is *RWX (same as mine, and I'm the owner). *PUBLIC has the same authority to the directory, as well. The user is not listed specifically in the "Work with Authority" display. Why can't she access the document? (BTW, we just upgraded to V5R2 this weekend)
