copy/paste lockup problem

Just as a test, have them copy into Notepad then copy/paste from Notepad to the green screen. Notepad takes out any funky characters when something is pasted into the Notepad workspace. Chris

One of our users is having a program and PC lock up occasionally when she tries to copy from an EXCEL spreadsheet(sent as EMAIL attachment) to a variable in and RPGLE program. She is copying 8 alpha to 8 or more text variable and then "enter" the data. I guessed that sometime the copy is picking up hidden formatting info from the spreadsheet and the 400 don't like it. I have found, for example, that copy/paste "..." to the 400 will create invalid data in a PF record that you only find out about when you try to access the field later. The user refuses to even consider this may be the problem but I am out of ideas. Any help is appreciated - I would realy like to know what causes it. Thanks
