Hi, I have just installed V3R2M3 on a Win98 pc. Everytime I shut down the pc I am told that a job called httpdl has to be ended - I am not sure, but is this connected to the new help which is now running in a browser and if yes - is there anything I can do to prevent this error/message? - Jan

I too have noticed this job staying active. Yes, it is part of the local help's web server that gets loaded first time you request help, and stays hanging around in memory, even after all VA / ADTS apps have been closed. However, it doesn't kick up a fuss about closing for me, so I can't help with your problem, I'm afraid. Maybe its because I'm using NT. I have the same problem Jan - it is a pain in the $@@. My command shell won't work worth a darn either (it won't set the prompt properly and messages issued "by hand" don't work at all) it also refuses to shut down. As it is a web server, it is designed to be left running, independantly of the app. that started it. And as it is used by several IBM products, I doubt that there are any plans to have the app. that started it kill it. However, it does sound like you have a conflict problem there. What else is running on your machine? Which browser are you using?
