Default Project Organiser - double clicking does nothing

Windows 98 SE WDT for iSeries SP 1 Open Project Organiser, get a list of members, double click on a member. A prompt comes up saying about to do a CODEEDIT on the member, click OK, nothing happens on some PC's, works on others, Blue Screens on others...... All works OK using same environment except for NT 4 SP6 instead of Win 98 SE. Any ideas ?

Hi Paul, Using Windows 95/98 with Norton Anti-virus auto-protect setting on can cause problems for CODE. (Somehow Norton thinks we're a virus on Windows 95/98 :-) ). The result of this conflict can be seen in two locations on the product: 1) The command shell (F9) in CODE Editor will not start and 2) No local actions (which would include CODE Edit) will work in CODE Project Organizer (this is probably what is happening to you). The remedies include: 1) turning off auto-protect 2) Obtaining the latest version of Norton Anti-virus. Hope this helps! Violaine Batthish CODE Project Lead Toronto Lab, IBM Canada

It turns out version 7.5 of Norton Anti-virus corporate edition causes the problem, version 7.0 doesn't: users with Anti-virus corporate edition 7.01 scan engine 1.1.1.11 can run CODE/400 with no problems users with anti-virus corporate edition 7.5.8.46 scan engine 4.1.0.6 are having problems running CODE/400 (double clicking on source members does not work) temporailiy disabling anti-virus corporate edition 7.5 fixes the CODE/400 problems So it seems the latest version of NAV is the one that doesn't work. Do Norton know about this ? Unfortunately in the corporate edition you cannot turn off auto-protect - you have to disable its loading altogether. Thanks very much for your help, most appreciated.

I had the problem with NAV V7.01 and all I had to do was change the Realtime protection to NOT check all file types.
