    Default Level Check question

Will what generate a level check? My notes say changing the select/omit will not change the level ID. But this is an SQL forum so what would it matter? Chris

Chris, This is the "database" forum, not just SQL, so it does matter. chuck Opinions expressed are not necessarily those of my employer. My eyes must be failing me! I see your message posted under "Forums > Programming > SQL". When I click on "Forums > Database", your message doesn't appear there. Chris

    Default Level Check question

Chuck, the only thing that changes the causes a level check is when you add a new field, change the size of an existing field, remove a field, or change the attribute of a numeric pack field to signed numeric. In other words when the layout of the file is change. John

If I change a logical file to exclude records (where before it didn't exclude records) and run a CHGPF against the DDS to change the logical, will it generate a level check? TIA, chuck Opinions expressed are not necessarily those of my employer.
