Default MCH3401 Cannot resolve to object EVFDSPCH.

I am having a difficult time getting my Communication Console working properly. I use the Server wizard and it states that all of the things I need check out just fine. But after I enter in the TCPIP definition, define the server logon, and enter in the 400 in the Server List in the Console I run into problems. I click on Check ptf's, and it sits there until it generates a windows error stating that EVFCSVRD.EXE has an apparent problem. Listed below is from the communications log. I have just installed Win2000 so that I can use the tools with our R510 box, and would appreciate any assistance. evfcsvrd.exe Wed May 15 08:39:39 2002 ** Error logging begins ** evfcsvrd.exe Wed May 15 08:39:39 2002 evfCons.java:[Error] The content of element type "CODEServerSettings" must match "(BUMP,CODEName*,ServerList?)". evfcsvrd.exe Wed May 15 08:39:39 2002 evfCons.java:[Fatal Error] The root element is required in a well-formed document. evfcsvrd.exe Wed May 15 08:39:39 2002 evfCons.java:loadAndParseLibraryXML:Unexpected error. org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: The root element is required in a well-formed document. evfctcpd.exe Wed May 15 08:39:45 2002 MCH3401 Cannot resolve to object EVFDSPCH. Dennis: have you applied SP5? Please make sure that you have a currrent library specified in your AS/400 user profile. Thanks, I installed SP4, and that took care of the problem... I am going to download SP5 now. Hi Dennis, I re-created the same error in my system, I found the reason... The iSeries couldn't find object EVFDSPCH *PGM on the iSeries server. This obj is in library QDEVTOOLS, it is a CLE program. I just change the name of the obj in my system, then I got the same error message in the code communication log(MCH3401). After I change the name back to the right one, all errors are gone. CODE and Webfacing work fine. So please check your iSeries, if there is the obj EVFDSPCH *PGM in library QDEVTOOLS, and *PUBLIC should have *USE authority to this obj. Let me know the result. Thanks. You do not have to install SP4 before SP5. SP5 contains all previous fixes and can be applied after the CD install. Harry: it is unlikely that this EVFDSPCH is not there. The problem is probably related to the current library. I would like to clarify this. QCODE is the product library for CODE on V4R5 AS/400 systems. QDEVTOOLS is the product library for CODE on V5R1 A/400 systems. You should NOT have QCODE library on V5R1 systems, or you will have unpredictable problems as CODE is assuming QCODE as the default product library today.
