What are you using to send the file? In my experience, you must have write access (on the 400) to the library and object in order to put (write) to that object. Ive transfered files via ftp in cmd on windows 2000 without any problems.

Default Win 2000 FTP to AS400 - 'Requested Action not taken' on a PUT

I am trying to send an ASCII file from a W2K machine to an AS400; I can login, change Libraries, delete files, but when I try to do a PUT, I receive the message 'Requested Action not taken'. This appears to be issued when the STOR is executed. The vendor does not have any experience with receiving files from clients, and I am not that familiar with the AS400 permissions. Any ideas on what I should have my vendor check would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Paul Gilliam

You must start FTP Server on AS/400 for first.
