There's a report in BRMS to print threshold information: PRTMEDBRM TYPE(*THRESHOLD) VOL(*ALL). Run this with maintenance as required.

I would like to suggest you ask your CE to put the latest microcode on your 3590 Tape Drives. There has been some big improvements on the latest release where we have reduced our bad media quite a bit. Keith

I was curious if anybody knows of a way to collect satistics about read/write errors on 3590 tapes. We have over 600 tapes and we need to get it into some type of report to keep track of errors. We use BRMS as are backup. I am mannually putting them in Excel as of now.Looking to do it automaticlly if possible.

You can also use the PRTERRLOG TYPE(*VOLSTAT) command which will give you the same information as from Service Tools, but this way you can automate it into a program and also dump the information to an output file.
