If it truly is in use, then a WrkObjLck on the file will show you, you may have to hit F6 to see the member in use. Beware that some packages use a data field in the record to designate that the record is currently in use and I bet that's what you are dealing with here. Bill

    Thanks for the response. I found out through another source that the record was flagged as in use. I had to change the field from 1 to 0 in order to free it up. Latergater
