Default Access an AS/400 File using ADO and Delphi 5

Hi all Delphi 5 has a suite of ADO components that, used in conjunction with the Client Access ADO Driver (IBMDA400), should allow record level access to the AS/400 physicle and logical files. Does anyone have a definitive example of how to do this - I Have documentation from the IBM website but none of the examples work. I have tried using ADO Provider for ODBC and created an ODBC data source using these ADO components and this works (although it is slow and cumbersome) Anynone have any examples then I would be very grateful. I seem to remember that Imprise produces a special version of Delphi specifically for AS/400 use. Perhaps it is within that version that documentation, and samples can be found. Dave

There is no more Delphi/400 - the AS/400 communications piece can be bought from System Objects. It is very expensive and very limiting, although the performance is pretty good. I would stick with the MS ADO stuff. Inprise discontinued JBuilder/400 because the toolbox is available to everyone. I really like the Inprise products...their support is terrific too. I would still like to see a more comprehensive KnowledgeBase on their site.
