Hi, Just getting to grips with Netserver. I have it setup and I can see our AS400 in network neighbourhood. I can also drop down into the directories - but I cannot create / or move files in or out. I was using a 'guest' user profile and realised there wasn't any authority on that user. I now let windows use my user from my PC ( whick is also set up on the 400) . When I double click to the 400 from network neighbourhood it asks me for a password. I don't know what user this is picking up as I don't seem to have the correct password. Anyone else tried this??? TIA Carl

Carl, I am wrestling with this as well. From what I can determine, the user profile that is used is the one you connected to the network with. But here is the kicker: It seems that if the passwords between the network and the 400 are different, you will never connect to NetServer. It will not accept the password entered. Have you tried changing your passwords to be the same between both systems? Bill

Do you have a user profile for yourself set up on the as/400, an also the security rights to the libraries an files that you will be working with. You need to have the authority on another system before you can get to it.
