Looking at ODBC connections, with the WRKACTJOB display the user appears as QUSER. Yet when you display job status attributes the correct user appears in the Current user profile and Job user identity. Are all the normal functions associated with a user profile available with an ODBC connection?

QUSER only shows up in the WRKACTJOB because QUSER was used to start the job, and WRKACTJOB is not displaying the CURRENT (connected) user. The USRPRF that you used for the connection is the one that will be used for authority, CCSID, DATEFMT, ...

All of those QZDAOINIT (sp?) jobs are prestart jobs that use profile swapping to run under the authority of the user who actually signed on. As Greg mentioned, use the DSPJOB to see who the current (*REAL) user is. jte MC Security Editor
