AS/400 Fax Solutions

Tim, We are using FastFax Plus from Quadrant software. It works great as far as faxing from the AS/400. I know that you can set it up to fax from attached PCs but I am not sure how well that works. We are only using it to fax invoices on a daily basis from our AS/400, so I can't speak for the PC side of things. As far as their tech support, they are pretty good. About four years ago we were having major problems faxing with their regular FastFax pacakge. We worked with their tech support people for a few weeks before coming to the conclusion that we were just overruning the FastFax product. We use FAX STAR. It runs on the lan as just another printer, and has a shared and private address books. On the 400 side, you can embed commands in spoolfiles. We did it with RPG. Works well, the 400 side is great. On the lan side, if there is excessive traffic or the lan goes down, the unit needs to be rebooted. Phone number is 800-2FAXSTAR.
