I am trying to connect a PC (IBM Value Point 425SX w/ 8 MB memory running Windows 3.11) to an AS/400 (9406-600 V4R2M0) using Client Access (V3R1M3). I have configured several identical connections successfully. Autoconfig is on on the AS/400. When I try to connect, the PC prompts for a common user ID and password. After I enter them, and click OK, the PC hangs, and has to be shut down. On the AS/400, the device configuration is created, followed immediately by the following messages in the QSYSOPR queue: "Device wk no longer communicating. Input/Output (I/O) error detected for device wk. ** Attention* Device wk on resource CTL02 failed. **Attention* device *n on resource *n failed. " The help for the message says: "Power off and power on the device. If the device does not become operational or this error continues, report the problem to your hardware service provicer." Does anybody have any ideas on what might be causing this? Any advice would be appreciated. TIA. W. David Urquhart
