Has any one converted from a CISC Model 200 to the RISC Model 170? If yes, how has the performance been since converting? Interactive and batch performance? We have a 50 50 environment of batch and interactive? How has performance been with the 17G disk drives? Thx Rich Grega

It's definatly worth the upgrade. We have done this with at least 3 of our plants... installation was about 2 hours including unpacking. OS loaded in 1 hour. What software packages are you running on the 170? How has your batch response been? Thanks for your comments. Rich

Batch has been great. We can't even sumbit a job and get to our spooled files to watch it before it is done. And this used to be on jobs that took 5 minutes or so to run. Bottom line is that it is a killer machine, and you'll think that the jobs really didn't run, simply because it's so fast. SRC="http://prairie.lakes.com/~bvstone/images/sig.gif">

Is this the Rich Grega that worked for a Plastics Manufacturing Company in Lapeer?? If so do you remember your System Operator back about 7 years ago. (I think).
