AS400 Auto-Dialing & MSGW Alert

I need some ideas on how to setup a monitoring system on the AS400 to monitor for MSGW's then dial a predetermined number or beeper. I remember seeing free utilities in one of the magazines years ago but failed to remember the issue. It think it used a QUSRTOOL to "read" active jobs, then react to any errors it saw in QBATCH or the subsystems we want to monitor. I know you can buy packages like this but I would assume it is very easy to setup a simple system that allows you to at least be alerted to potential errors. kevin.gerard@fgcorp.com

Just off the top of my head... You could set up a never-ending job to monitor the QSYSOPR message queue, filter out the "Load form type" kind of messages you don't really need to see, then forward the rest to a pager dialing program. MichaelD

We have such a system here that I created. I have not had time to make it "pretty" but it does an effective job. If you would like I can gather the info and e-mail it to you.
