PTF Maintenance Procedure

I am in need of a good strong detailed PTF Maintenance procedure. Does anyone have one in place that I can get some ideas from?

Nate, I'm not sure I understand what you need. What I do is check the internet for new PTFs under the group PTF functions. I pay particular attention to the Hiper PTFs that come on on Tuesday. As far as Cum Tapes I usually wait 1-2 months before ordering them and applying them. As you can tell this is a manual process and can be time consuming. IBM used to (I don't know if they still do) had some special services (at a cost) dealing with their AS/400 Alert (hiper ptf notification). You may want to check with them. Glen

I'm not quite sure what you mean. One of my clients is using IBM's Service Director. IBM automatically detects any new PTFs that are needed for the system. The PTFs are automatically sent via ECS. No request is necessary. It is up to the end user to LOAD and APPLY the sent PTFs. The sent PTFs may be identified by messages on the QSRV, and QSRVCDRCTR message queues. Dave
