Default Changing fonts for printer output

I am running Client Access Express V4R5M0 on a Windows 2000 Server platform. I have a HP LaserJet 6P attached to the LPT1 port. I have setup a virtual printing device on the AS/400 machine and the printer print fine until I want to change the fonts on the output reports. I've tried a few ways to change the fonts and didn't help much. Here's what I did: Method 1: I tried to config the printer to print using the PDT files. The highest model that comes with the program is HP LaserJet 4, which prints okay but I wanna change the font to bold and a little bigger. I tried to edit the PDF files but there is not much guideline on how to do that from the online help and IBM website. Therefore, I only tried to change a couple of values and it didn't help much. Method 2: The second method I used was to change the fonts by clicking through the menu as followed: Communication -> Configure... -> Select Printer -> Select Setup at this porint, the "PC5250 Printer Emulation Setup" window pops up. By checking the "Transform print data to ASCII on AS400" checkbox, this will allow you to pick which printer model to emulate. The highest model for HP is LaserJet 4 and that's what I pick. Also, in this windows, you get an options to change the "Font for AS400 print file". But I later figure this option is quit useless since no matter what you put in that option. The printout look exactly the same. It will be great if anyone knows any other methods that might be worth trying or can tell what I am doing wrong. Looking forward any reply... Thanks

Default Changing fonts for printer output

Without AFP, there are essentially two types of fonts that may be used in regular print outs. The first is changing the FONT parameter on a PRTF, or within a PRTF. You could also use OVRPRTF to change the FONT ID on QSYSPRT. The default font for most printers is 11 This is a 10 CPI font. You could also change the CPI to 15 for smaller printing. I list of font Ids, and which printers can use them is listed in the appendices of the CL Manual. The second method is to use GDDM vector fonts. These may only be used within the DDS of a PRTF. Dave
