    Default I.F.S. MS Word documents-ILLEGAL OPERATION ??

I have been storing Microsoft Word documents in the I.F.S Root directory and have been having problems with Illegal Operations as of late.. V 4.3. shop.. Client access V3R2M0 service pack SF59923 level.... Not sure what is different; but everytime I try to access my work documents I get the illegal operation. I can click right on one and drag to desktop to copy etc.... then fix what I need and copy it back-- but opening documents in IFS is a no go... Might anyone be able to shed some light ?? Thanks Much Rob

Try this: Create a new directory on the IFS, and map it as a network drive. Then move your MS Word files to the new directory. I don't know why, but there seems to be less problems, such as you described, when using a mapped drive. Dave

Turning on Dr. Watson you see there is a problem with the printer driver believe it or not. Download the most current driver patch or possibly revert to one that works and it resolves the illegal operation problem
