Default Client Acess is unable to find file in library when trying to download file from AS/400 to PC

I am using Client Access v3r2 with the latest service packs on an AS/400 with v4r3. I am trying to download files from the AS/400 to my PC and am using the qsecofr user profile. In some instances, client access is not able to find the file even though it physical exists on the AS/400. In order to remedy this, I have had to copy that file over to a temporary library that I created, and then download it from there (This is the only way I have found that Client Access will find the file). What am I doing wrong?

When specifying the file to download, are you also specifying the library? Dave

I seem to remember having this problem before. Is your file name the same as it's member name? If not, you should either specify the member name in Client Access, or else rename the member to be the same as the file name.

Ricardo, I think the member name is different but I'm not absolutely sure. I'll try your suggestion. Thanks. Pete

This is a problem. One CA/400 complaint, is that the library list used in CA/400 is almost always a few libraries short of the *LIBL of the *USRPRF or *JOBD of the individual using CA/400. One workaround is to hardcode the library into your transfer request, but you say that you are already doing this. Another reason for not finding the file, would be a security issue, but you say that you can copy the file into another library first, which would negate this finding. Unless someone else comes up with a finding, my next impulse would be to call IBM support, and describe the problem. A PYF may already be available. Dave
